21 Day Awareness Challenge Day 11

Awareness.Day11Awareness Challenge Day 11

Week Two – Awareness of our Seat of the Soul/Self and the voice in our head.

The Critical Voice is Not Your Own

You were born with wide-eyed innocence and extraordinary confidence to explore the world as a grand adventure.  You loved yourself just as you were, had no qualms about being naked, and told the truth about what felt good and what felt bad. ~ Alan Cohen

•    Meditate for fifteen minutes.  If, when you sit to meditate, the voice is not about to go calm, try focusing it on something pleasant. That also gets you into harmony with your source.

Recall as often as you wish; a happy memory never wears out. ~Libby Fudim

•    Directing the Voice: Thought Shifting and Lean Back

If you are caught in a thought loop and shifting your thought might be difficult try saying the general statement from the young hotel manager in the movie, Exotic Marigold Hotel – “Everything works out all right in the end. If it is not all right, it is not the end.”

•    Journal about what you have been aware of in meditation and during the day.  Where in your body do you experience the sense of calm, your Soul/Self? What has the voice been saying? Do you see patterns?  Were you able to Thought Shift?  Did leaning back work for you?

•    Additional Questions: Whose voice have you adopted as your inner critic? Can you let the critical voice go in favor of self-appreciation?
